Augusta is a town that is located in the heart of Georgia and is thriving with life and possibilities. Whether you are looking for a new career, or to enhance the horizons of your chosen field, many opportunities await in this great southern city. Whether you are looking to upgrade your education, learn a new trade or start a business selling metal coil banding machines Augusta is the place to be.

For generations, many Augustans have had the privilege of living in the largest city in East Central Georgia and have benefitted from the sheer number of employment opportunities that this metropolis presents. Best known internationally for hosting the world-class Masters Golf Tournament, which employs many individuals each year to help run the event. The Masters Tournament attracts thousands of people each year and this influx is a great stimulus for the region's tourism industry that usually sees a boom during the sunny daylighting days of summer while the tournament is running. Yet this is only one of the many industries that is thriving in the region.

In recent years, Augusta has become an important center of medicine, military and biotechnology. The prestigious Medical College of Georgia is the only public health graduate college in the state and brings thousands of students to the area each year for their studies. The university itself employs over seven thousand people. This staff consists of talented professors and educators, administrative staff, as well as a custodial team that takes care of everything from waxing the floors, stocking the supplies in the bathrooms and work to repair damaged valves. Along with the teaching hospital that is paired with the college, University Hospital, the medical and educational fields employ over 25,000 people in Augusta.

The Savannah River Site is another important pillar in the industrial community of Augusta. This site is a nuclear materials processing facility that is run by the Department of Energy. It is one of the largest employers in Augusta and like the cable cutters and deans at the University, the employees are diverse in terms of skill, education and the positions that they hold. Although the reactors on the site have not been in production recently, they have taken more of a focus on the clean up efforts related to work done in the past to make nuclear weapons. They are also working towards the goal of nuclear energy production as a means of subsidizing other forms of sustainable and renewable energy.

The U.S. Army Signal Center at Fort Gordon is another of the cities most important employers in terms of industry. Again, in this institution there are literally hundreds of possible chances to succeed in many careers. From drill sergeants to wire duct cleaners, there are always many jobs to perform within the realm of the military. There are, of course many other great industrial leaders in the Augusta area, such as Electrolux, T-Mobile, John Deere, Proctor & Gamble and Kellogg's, to name a few! No matter what your area of expertise, there are many exciting opportunities to be found within Augusta's wide ranging industries.
